How To Reach The Golden Temple, Amritsar.
Well, The temple is quite close to the bus stand but it’s also not too far from the railway station. I personally came here by bus so it was approximately half a kilometer away from that point. If you are coming through the railway station then it is 3-4 kilometers away from that point. Amritsar is well connected, so you can always get an auto-rickshaw which is very cheap.

Heritage Walk
Once you reach the premises, the Heritage walk of the Golden temple begins. This heritage walk is connected through lots of small streets and big bazaars. But majorly there are three different ways to reach there. All the buildings are of a reddish color and look so amazing. It definitely gives you a pleasing appearance. All the buildings are similar to each other and symmetry can be observed in all heritage walk. Just Have a look at these pictures to understand more.
Here is list of the attractions in the heritage walk.
Partition Museum at the Golden Temple Amritsar
While you just enter. You will see that there is a partition museum on the left side of the heritage walk. As the name suggests this museum is dedicated to the partition of the nation. I can not go inside because when I reached there, unfortunately, it was closed due to the corona pandemic. When I was shooting there suddenly a lady police officer came to me to ask why I am shooting. I told her that I am a Blogger and a Youtuber.
After this when you go ahead towards the Golden temple Amritsar, the left side is a vehicle parking and on the right side, there is a Gurudwara of Saragadhi, dedicated to the martyrs of the 21 British Indian soldiers that fought with 10000 Afghans for Britishers and won. Just next to this is a hotel where you can stay and a food court inside this.

Statue of the B.R. Ambedkar
At the next square, there is a wonderful statue of Bhim Rao Ambedkar standing within the parliament of India. B.R. Ambedkar has a book in his one hand and the second hand is in the air pointing up in the air. I personally liked his statue a lot of reason being that I never saw a statue of Ambedkar at a religious place and this literally touched my heart.
This statue seriously gets you Goosebumps and make you feel proud for a moment. The Parliament and statue are made of stone and the details are exactly copied. This makes it an identical prototype of the parliament of India
Statue of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh
After this, the next stop is the statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. This statue is accessible from four different sides and is in the middle of the square. This statue is in a conical shape having a wider base than the top.
At the bottom, you can see the faces of lions acts as fountains. Above this, There are sculptures of war animals used at the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh for instance horses, elephants, and others. Above this, the sculptures of soldiers stood to protect which shows how the empire was kept safe.
In the last at the top, there is a marvelous statue of Maharaja Itself riding a horse having its two rear legs up in the air. Maharaja has a sword in this hand and this gives you a glimpse of how he would have been fought in the battles! amazing statue. If you are there anytime don’t forget to get a selfie with Maharaja in the beautiful night lightings.
Statue of the martyrs or Shaheed Jyoti
Just Outside of the Jaliawala bagh, there is a statue of the martyrs. This statue is literally forced me to think about how they made it? Martyrs have their faces sculpted on this statue and the whole statue is in the shape of a candle flame. In between, there is a hollow space for the Mashaal or for burning a torch which makes it more interesting. At the night it becomes more appealing when the lightings are dominating most of the things. Just have a look at this picture.
While I was shooting my whole attention was to keep this statue in the focus and you can see this in the YouTube video that begins with this.
Entering The Golden Temple, Amritsar.
First thing first, when I entered, there is a Joda Ghar where I kept my shoes and got my token for this.
Then after moving from the corridor, there is a little washing area where you can wash your hands and feet, I did the same. But do not forget to take a cloth over your head, without this entering the Golden temple is not allowed. Also, this was the point where they stopped me for shooting although some people were shooting with their DSLR’s but unfortunately they stopped me for having a gimbal with me. Just after entering the scene looks like this.
Now I was inside the premises of the Golden temple but outside the main golden part where Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is throned. It is in the center of the holy Sarovar or lake and connected with paths from all the four sides. People usually take a holy dip into the Sarovar to allegedly wipe out their sins.
Entering The Main Gurudwara Sahib ji or Golden Temple
It was a long corridor to enter here and I had to wait a lot for this because of the crowd but surprisingly I actually did not feel lazy. I was so excited and curious also I could not even think about anything else. The only thing that was in my mind was that I am here at this moment, I can say that I was lost in the environment.
In the center, Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is throned, I paid my offerings and bowed down my head and in the last wished for Vasudheiva Kutumbakam.
